Program details
Florence is perfect for biking and this bike tour takes you where the bus tours can’t go, in pedestrian areas and little tiny streets.
It will take you
less time than any walking tours, showing you roads out of the usual tourist paths, too far to be reached by foot, too tiny for a bus!
You will enter the
Accademia Gallery museum with a fast-track ticket and discover the original Michelangelo masterpiece that has become the symbol of Renaissance splendor, the
Statue of David. Admire it from every perspective, and gaze in awe at David, that dominates the central gallery of the museum.
Sculpted by a very young Michelangelo (in his twenties) entirely from a single block of local Carrara marble 5.17 meters tall (17 ft). It represents the biblical hero David that killed Goliath and when it was unveiled, in 1504, it soon came to symbolize the defense of the civil liberties embodied in the Florentine Republic.
Admire also Michelangelo's famously unfinished sculptures –
Prigioni and San Matteo.
The Accademia Gallery houses
also many other masterpieces, both paintings, and sculptures,
from the Middle Ages to Renaissance, by the greatest artists, like Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, Andrea del Sarto, and many more, which you will discover with your knowledgeable guide.
During the second part of the tour, you will
ride through the narrow streets of the main center and the Oltrarno district, reaching the most amazing monuments of Florence and unknown spots from where to admire the city: Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Strozzi, the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella, the artisan's district, Palazzo Pitti, Pontevecchio, the Uffizi square, Piazza della Signoria, Santa Croce, etc.
In 2 and a half hours you will visit
all the major tourist attractions (admission and entry not included) and even
take some stops at several locations for a photo stop, a quick history lesson and fun facts about the city, all under the experienced guidance of an entertaining and fun professional history guide.
Relax, enjoy the tour and even taste a wonderful Gelato!
Our licensed guides will help you discover the most of the "Cradle of the Renaissance" in less time and in the funniest way.. simply
perfect as an introduction as well as for veterans.
Either way, we're sure you'll agree that biking is the best way to see Florence.
