Program details

The UNESCO World Heritage site of Göreme open-air museum is a must-see when visiting Cappadocia. This is where Byzantine rock-cut churches and monasteries were built out of the local tufa stone by early Christain communities. Many of the churches contain beautiful religious frescoes still visible on the walls. The most famous churches to look out for are the Church of the Buckle, Apple Church, the Church of St Barbara and Snake and Dark Church.

The tour then moves on to Uçhisar Rock Castle, a prominent landmark which affords magnificent, panoramic views over the valleys below.
