Program details
Guided by an expert tour guide you will experience an unforgettable day, discovering the enchanting five seaside villages of the UNESCO site coastal park, including an active experience of Nature Hiking among vineyards, olive groves and lemon groves, cultivated on panoramic terraced land overlooking the sea.
Let's immerse ourselves in the special local atmosphere of the five enchanting villages of Cinque Terre, famous worldwide for their position perched on the rocky coast and for the pastel colors that are reflected in the blue of the Mediterranean sea.
In addition to the visit of the villages, that are just a few minutes away by train from each other, we will venture off the beaten path to the high trails from which you can enjoy breathtaking views, in a suggestive journey immersed in the Mediterranean scrub: we will discover ancient sanctuaries and farmhouses surrounded by vegetable gardens that emanate the heady scent of basil, between lemons, vines and olive trees that the tenacious local people have been cultivating for millennia, tearing the ground from the rocks out of the cliffs that plunge down to the sea with toil.
Our Cinque Terre’s discovery starts from the beautiful village of Manarola, laying on the rocks that slope down to the sea. It is Cinque Terre oldest village and the most photographed too.
From here, our comfortable small bus will lead us to the so called “Via Alta” in a few minutes, finding ourselves at 335 mt above the sea level. From there, we will walk through the panoramic trail reaching Corniglia, the smallest of the five villages, the most hidden and higher positioned, at 100 mt asl, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view over the whole Riviera.
Along the way we will meet the suggestive Sanctuary of the Madonna della Salute, of Romanesque origin (X century), as well as farmers working in the vineyards and characteristic residential areas. In Corniglia, if you like it, you will have the chance to taste a fragrant “basil” ice-cream, the main ingredient of the famous Ligurian “pesto”.
Monterosso, the largest and flattest of the five villages, awaits us with its Medieval old town full of typical shops and trattorias. It is the ideal place where to spend free time for lunch and with its sandy beaches it invites to a cool down swim in the crystal clear sea.
A few minutes away by train we find Vernazza, the pearl of Cinque Terre, a picturesque palette full of colors, built around the famous small harbor and the ancient castle with an 11th century tower.
We end up in Riomaggiore, a village perched on a narrow rocky bay, with a small harbor where you can watch fishermen at work next to their brightly colored boats: another great opportunity to take fantastic pictures of glimpses of a landscape which is unique in the world.
