Program details

Pedal on the Ancient Appian Way, a 2300 year-old cobblestone Roman road while going past an ancient sepulchre, a Roman statue, the ruins of a circus and an imperial palace, the Christian catacombs and pagan mausoleums; then leave the Ancient Appian Way to head towards the ancient Roman aqueducts rising over the fields on the horizon and follow them on their way back to Rome. Enjoy a ride through the Roman countryside that so well impressed 19th century travelers such as Byron, Goethe and Stendhal.

Hear all there is to know about these surprising feats of engineering: the ancient thoroughfare connecting Rome and Brindisi, the monumental aqueducts criss-crossing the lush landscape, the imposing defensive walls – an enduring and outstanding proof of the ancient world power. Descend into the 2nd century Catacombs with a guide and walk through these intricate subterranean spaces, discovering traces of the early Christian era. Along the Ancient Appian Way, stop for a tasty aperitif and enjoy the atmosphere of the park. To warp the tour up, throw a glance over the impressive Thermal Baths of Caracalla before coming back to the point of departure.

And all of this, on one of our quality electric-assist mountain bikes (or super -light carbon -frame mountain bikes, if preferred), so that your ride through this marvelous green area can be pure enjoyment and pleasure.

An extraordinary tour of absolute beauty. A journey into a unique environment, in which miraculously intact nature, free from modernization, forms a backdrop to the continuous passage of historical, cultural and artistic events.
