Program details

Depart from hotel in Jogja and you will have around 45 minutes driving to the south to reach Cadran Kebon Agung, a village of agriculture-related tourism. You will be able to have a look to the farmer’s museum where various traditional farming tools are displayed. Discover the village by riding a bicycle or driving “becak” tricycle to visit some home industries to see the making of “tempe” a fermented soya bean which is the favorite food of Indonesian people, brown sugar, “emping” chips made from Gnetum gnemon nut. You can also observe the cow farm with its bio-gas production and after having a bid with the villagers you can continue to Depok the colorful fish market. You can walk around the stalls and see the array of many kinds of fishes as the catch of the day and the fishermens’ colorful fishing boats. After that drive to the hill through the black sand dunes and have a short walk to the top of the hills to see the stunning panorama of Parangritis beach and the beautiful coastline. Seafood lunch will be served at Queen of the South hotel overlooking to the Indian Ocean. Drive back to Yogyakarta and on the way visit Giriloyo to watch the making of traditional batik, Pucung village which is well known as the center of wayang kulit, the traditional puppets made from buffalo leather which is used in the Javanese famous shadow puppet performance.
