Program details
If you want to discover the natural attractions of Bulgaria, this day trip from Bucharest offers you the opportunity to visit one of the most famous caves in Bulgaria and an impressive waterfall.
The trip starts at your hotel in Bucharest, from where the guide will pick you up early in the morning. After an hour's drive, you will cross the Danube and the Bulgarian customs. The road then continues through the green hills of Bulgaria to the first natural attraction: Devetashka Cave. Devetashka Cave has a high, impressive entrance. It is best known for its three holes in the ceiling that allow light to enter.
Although its gallery continues, only the beginning is open to tourists. In this part, you can admire the holes in the ceiling and the cavity dug in the ground. In the past, the cave was inhabited by humans, but today it is home only to bat colonies.
After lunch, your trip continues with the second natural attraction: Hotnitsa waterfall. Here you can stop on the shore to admire it or you can walk on a trail through the forest, on the edge of the water that forms the waterfall. The route has quite steep sections of ascent, so it is not recommended for the inexperienced.
In the evening you will head back to Bucharest. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or other location in Bucharest.
