Program details

The capital of Colombia, one of the most religious countries in America, preserves its iconic cathedrals and churches to evoke the past. Each year they receive hundreds of visitors who hope to find in them not only a space for spiritual recollection but also an opportunity to appreciate the majesty and grandeur of its architecture and history that are part of its contexts.

Among the most emblematic temples is the Catedral Primada, La Candelaria, La Iglesia de las Nieves, Iglesia San Francisco and of course the 20 de Julio church built south of the city in 1935. All of them keep original pieces from their beginnings and they house sculptures, stained glass windows and monuments that have been restored to preserve their solemn settings.

You will ascend the Monserrate hill, a symbol of Bogotá designed to be a monastery in the 17th century and located in the eastern mountain range at more than 3,150 meters above sea level. Here you will appreciate the sanctuary of the fallen Lord, a symbol of great value for the Catholic community. As well as the route of the Via Crucis recreated with sculptures of Italian origin brought in the 19th century.
