Program details
In this excursion, we'll sail out into the Straits of Gibraltar on the lookout for whales and dolphins.
Whale watching is a fun as well as educational activity; you should be able to spot some of the three types of dolphins that inhabit the recently established Marine Nature Reserve in the area: Common, Striped, and Bottlenose.
They also share their habitat with Pilot Whales. If you're lucky you may even make a sighting of Killer Whales, Sperm Whales, and Fin Whales as they migrate back and forth through the Straits from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean.
There are regular departures from the port of Tarifa in three different boats with capacity for 150, 60, and 10 passengers respectively. The excursion lasts 2 or 3 hours (depends on the option) and there is a 90% possibility of a sighting. If there is no sighting then passengers will get another ticket for free for a second chance. The excursions are guided by marine biologists whose commentaries will provide us with information about the ecosystem, and the biology and behavior of these animals.
The beauty of Whale Watching at the Southernmost tip of Europe cannot be described: you'll see these sea mammals playfully surrounding our boat, soaring in and out of the water. We guarantee you an unforgettable experience.
