Magical Tour of Sicily from Catania - Spring Summer

Program

Day 1:
Saturday: Eastern Sicily
Arrival in Catania (Airport or port) and accommodation in one of the planned hotels. Check-in starts at 4:00 p.m. Before dinner, you meet with your guide and have a Welcome Cocktail with the presentation of the tour. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:
Sunday: Syracuse - Noto
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Syracuse and visit of the historic center (Ortigia) with the Temple of Minerva and the Arethusa Fountain. The archaeological area with the Greek Theater, the Roman Amphitheater, the Latomie and the Ear of Dionysus. Light Lunch and Free Time. In the afternoon, walk through Noto and the Historical centre. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:
Monday: Taormina - Cefalù
Breakfast at the hotel. Next, departure to Taormina. Free Time. Stop to savor the renowned Messina granita served with brioche, or an authentic cannolo (depending on the season). Departure to Cefalù and visit of this famous and beautiful coastal town. Arrival and accommodation in one of the planned hotels. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 4:
Tuesday: Palermo - Monreale
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Monreale, visit the Cathedral and the Benedictine Cloister. Return to Palermo and have a walking tour of the historic center featuring the Palermo Cathedral, the “Four Canti”, and Pretoria Square with the famous “Fountain of Shame”. The tour continues to Piazza Verdi, with a delightful pause to savor the renowned street food of Palermo. Free time and then return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5:
WEDNESDAY – ERICE/MARSALA/SELINUNTE
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Erice, short visit of the town and small tasting of typical almond sweets. Continuation to Marsala and visit a winery with Wine tasting and light lunch. In the afternoon, there will be a visit to the eastern hill of Selinunte. Continuation to Agrigento, accommodation at the hotel and dinner. After dinner, enjoy the views of the illuminated Valley of the Temples. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Note: if it is not possible to reach the town of Erice due to road closures, a visit to Trapani will replace it without the small tasting of almonds.

Day 6:
Thursday: Agrigento (Valley of the temples) - Piazza Armerina
Breakfast at the hotel and visit the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Then departure to Piazza Armerina and Visit to the Roman Villa called “Del Casale”, famous for its mosaics. Traditional lunch inspired by the culinary traditions of Ancient Rome. Then, departure to the eastern part of the island and accommodation in one of the planned hotels. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 7:
Friday: Etna - Catania
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Mount Etna by coach climbing up to 1900 meters. You will have the opportunity to walk along the Silvestri Craters and enjoy some free time . Conclude the excursion with a visit to a local winery for a tasting of fine wines and regional specialties. In the afternoon, continue to Catania for a walk through its historic center, followed by free time for shopping. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Note: in the case of adverse weather conditions, we will climb to a height of 700 meters and we will stop at Zafferana Etnea, where you can see the remains of the 1992 eruption.

Day 8:
Saturday: Eastern Sicily
Breakfast at the hotel and the end of the services.

Price includes

- GT coach and Tour Leader/ Regional guide from dinner on the day of arrival until the end of the last excursion, the day before departure
- Half Board (breakfast and dinner) during the entire tour, from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 8 in the hotel or in a partner Restaurant. Fixed regional menu with 3-course menu and drinks (1/4 liter of wine and 1/2 liter of water per person)
- Local culinary and wine experiences included, as specified in the itinerary
- Welcome cocktail
- Use of audio-receiving devices throughout the duration of the tour
- Accommodation at a 4-star hotel or similar
- 1/4 liter of wine and 1/2 liter of water per person included during meals (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays)
- Guided tours with Tour Leader or Local Guide: Archaeological Park of Neapolis, Ortigia, Palermo, Monreale, Hill in Eastern Selinunte, Valley of the Temples, Piazza Armerina with its Villa Imperiale del Casale
- Evening coach tour to admire the illuminated Valley of the Temples at a scheduled time after dinner
- One post-dinner shuttle service connecting the hotel to the city center (location to be confirmed)
- Tickets included according to the program: Archaeological Park of Neapolis, Ortigia Cathedral, Duomo and Cloister of Monreale, Ancient Noble Palace in Palermo, Selinunte, Valley of the Temples, Roman Villa of the Casale
