Puerto Madryn, wildlife of the south

Program

Day 1:
Puerto Madryn
You will arrive in Puerto Madryn. Reception and regular transfer to Puerto Madryn. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2:
Puerto Madryn
Breakfast. Full-day excursion to Península Valdés. We depart early in the morning toward the Península Valdés Protected Natural Area, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After one hour of travel, we arrive at the picturesque ecological village of Puerto Pirámides to embark on the Traditional Whale Watching excursion (Southern Right Whales) between June and November. Lunch (optional, not included) will be scheduled in Puerto Pirámides or Caleta Valdés.
We will tour the southern area of the peninsula, crossing vast grassland landscapes and gentle hills, passing by Salina Grande and Salina Chica, and along the outskirts of Punta Delgada, the southernmost point of the peninsula. We continue to Punta Cantor to admire the Atlantic coast and the fascinating geological formation known as Caleta Valdés. These beaches are often inhabited by southern elephant seals, the largest seals on the planet.
We begin the return journey with a stop at the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, a showcase of the peninsula’s natural wealth. During the excursion, there are great chances of spotting terrestrial wildlife such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras, armadillos, and skunks.
Return to the hotel.

Day 3:
Puerto Madryn
Breakfast.
Option 2: Full-day excursion to Punta Ninfas. Immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of the Patagonian steppe and its impressive cliff-lined beaches. Traveling along the internal roads of Estancia El Pedral in 4x4 vehicles, you are very likely to encounter guanacos, rheas, and hares. As you approach the coast, you will observe the curious behavior of Magellanic penguins, as well as cormorants, sea lions, and elephant seals. You will enjoy a box lunch with drinks and a sweet treat at sunset before beginning the return. An unforgettable day full of adventure and unique moments. Return to the hotel.
Note: From September 15 to April 15, you may choose Option A (Full-day excursion to the El Pedral Penguin Colony) as a seasonal alternative.

Day 4:
Puerto Madryn
Breakfast. Regular transfer to the airport to board your Aerolíneas Argentinas flight (flight not included).
