It is always an immense pleasure to visit the cities of art and the manymasterpieces that they have. The tour will begin from the majestic Basilica of San Domenico, then you will reach the medieval fountain of Siena and discover nearby the favorite game of the “cittini”, the Sienese children.

We will go to the house of St. Catherine of Siena, a charismatic figure who wrote letters to the most powerful characters of her time, although she did not know how to read or write. Passing through alleys rich in stories and legends, we will find horse stables and little fountains hidden in the districts, typical symbols of the Sienese tradition. There will also be a visit to the Cathedral, an important destination for pilgrims because right in front of it there is the ancient hospital Santa Maria della Scala, today an important museum. Why this strange name (St. Mary of the staircase)? What is its symbol? During our visit we will be careful to find it in the many buildings…

Afterwards you will see the smallest window in the world and find on top of a column the she-wolf with two twins ... a she-wolf … just like the symbol of Rome! What is the union between Siena and Rome?Once the mystery is revealed, you will walk down the Eagle district (Contradadell’Aquila) to find a hidden fountain and its diabolical werewolf.

You will then continue strolling through characteristic and picturesque streets, linked to the most important places and cultural figures of the city, having always a special attention to the roads passable with prams and strollers! We will conclude the tour in Piazza del Campo, where the worldwide famous horse race, called Palio, takes place every year. The guide will reveal you all the secrets about this unique shell shaped square and the majestic Palazzo Pubblico.
