Feel like a child again visiting the Benaki Toy Museum in Athens and admire a variety of toys, books, ephemera, clothing and other items associated with childhood from Europe, Africa, Asia and America.
The Museum is housed in an eclectic-style building which combines Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau elements dating from 1897-1900 and opened to the public in 2017. The museum is based on the collection of Maria Argyriadi which is among the most important in Europe.
It includes a variety of very interesting collections, 20,000 toys, games and childhood items, from antiquity to modern times originating not only from Greece but almost all around the world.
