Leave behind the creature comforts of Orlando and take the plunge in the wilds of Lake County. Driving across grassy tracks and sandy surfaces doesn’t even begin to describe how much fun these four-wheeled Can Am Commander X 1000 series buggies can be whether driving or riding as a passenger. The especially designed 3km (2 mile) track has a variety of surfaces ranging from sand to wetlands. There are tight twists and turns, a steep hill incline and some long straights to enjoy.
The buggies carry a driver and passenger (who must be at least 1m14cm/45” tall to ride) and you will receive a full safety briefing beforehand. You will be provided with helmet, gloves and goggles. Only two buggies are allowed on the track at any one time this reducing the danger of bumping into another vehicle.
There’s no better way to see the real Florida than this dune buggy experience; it’s bumpy, it’s dusty and it’s a dirty – but this ride along unspoiled trails is what a holiday adventure really is all about.
