Why book this tour:We have brilliantly designed this tour in mind to show the relevance, and in time it has become a very efficient guide to offer a captivating and modern presentation of the continuity between the old monuments and the new landmarks of Athens, and we enhanced this trip with delicious local food.
Itinerary (approx.: 11.5km)
1st Part We ride through the modern centre, an area full of architectural landmarks related to the more recent era of the city as the capital of Greece. We shall start from the famous Panathenaic Stadium area with interesting landmarks and the Greek Parliament and later discover the first Palace.
2nd Part We cycle downtown at the currently multiethnic part of Athens. The busy streets, the variety of the shops mixed with smells and colours, offers you a cinematographic view of the Athenians go by the day. A short visit to the food market is an appetiser before our first sweet tasting.
3rd Part Beautiful back streets will take you through old neighbourhoods to the recently renovated Cathedral of Athens. We continue through the antiquities of the Roman era to the very popular spot of Monastiraki, the gate to the ancient paths of the city. At this point and before entering the old part of Athens we have a stop to enjoy our souvlaki.
4th Part We enter at the last part of our journey, at Plaka. Is a unique neighbourhood situated underneath the Acropolis rock, the bearer of heavy historical weight full off alleys marking the city life of the last 3000 years. Many interesting monuments and anecdotes mark this last part of the tour.
